How this differs

A report and a chat tool

People now ask questions in a chat tool. Grok is one of those tools, and other emerging tools work in a conversation too. You ask, the tool replies, and the thread moves on. That is useful when someone wants to think a question through, compare ideas, or draft wording.

What AetherVett releases

An AetherVett report is a written record. It is meant to be read again when a decision is in front of the reader.

  • The sources used in the report are listed, with when each source was published and when AetherVett read it, so the reader can check them.
  • A person reviews the work before it is released.
  • Anything that could not be read or checked is named and left open. It is not filled in.
  • The decision stays with the reader. The report sets the options out side by side.

Two different jobs

A conversation and a report do different work. A chat tool does not take the place of the report, and the report does not take the place of a conversation. AetherVett uses software, including AI, to gather and arrange material. A person still reviews what is released.

Tools in this field change quickly. This page describes the difference in the work product. It does not rank the tools, and it does not speak for Grok or for any other product.
